Greetings. Due to the festive season here in the UK these News updates were put on hold.

Over this hiatus period my Chinese colleague and I have been working on a major update to an article on pre 1920’s names for the game.

This article helps substantiate the pre 1920 development of the game in and around Shanghai and also reveals some of the very interesting social conditions that prevailed in the Shanghai region as the game began to spread with its rapidly expanding popularity.

The completed article is still being held in its draft stage and will be published on this site shortly.

Following this publication the site will begin a slight modification and then more tile sets will be added to the Tile Set Galleries.

Finally, the Mahjong Collector magazine is progressing and will be published shortly.
