Welcome to new and returning visitors!

Two bone and bamboo tile sets will be forthcoming additions to this site. One, acquired in the UK, has a strong provenance to the Turing family, of which Alan Turing was a member. The second was acquired in Japan and features tiles that are ornately decorated with symbolic motifs for longevity and a ‘Bamboo’ suit decorated fully with bamboo shoots – a motif rarely seen for a complete suit, although a Chinese Bakelite set featuring a suit of this motif will appear in the soon-to-be published The Mahjong Collector magazine.
