Greetings.

A major update to the article “Maque/Majiang/Mahjong terms 1780-1920” has now been finished. Considerable new evidence has been added and where appropriate we have drawn inferences from that evidence to highlight the geographical and social spread of the card game of máquè and the tile game of májiàng(Mahjong).

Also discussed is the appearance of the local name of the tile game and how this local name probably aided J. P. Babcock in formulating a name for his game.
