News Flash!

The Mahjong Collector magazine is now at the printers. This new publication is for Mahjong tile set collectors and anyone else interested in this fascinating game born out of Chinese culture.

The Mission Statement of the magazine is; “To provide a platform for Mahjong collectors and enthusiasts to share their knowledge, skills and expertise of the history, materials and underlying symbolism of the designs on the tiles.

To provide a platform for showcasing the variety, beauty and collectors’ passion for mahjong sets that will stimulate discussion about these laments of the game.

You will also find a new section tab at the top of the page –Mahjong terms 1780 – 1920‘. This tab is a link to a new article that features new and important information that will reveal what the game was called throughout the 19th century as well as associated terms from the 18th century. It will also reveal some of the social conditions within which the game flourished and developed up until the 1920s.
