Greetings!

The article “Pre 1920 Names” is currently undergoing a major update. Highly significant data is being added to the article that will illuminate the game’s prevalence during the period from 1880 – 1920. This information will also shed light on the many names of the game during this period – a fact that was highlighted no less than by J you can try these out. P. Babcock.

Also added is new information about Stewart Culin’s 1909 tile set that also clarifies the seemingly ‘odd’ tiles he included in a picture of sample tiles from the set. That picture appeared in his 1924 article on Ma-jong in the Brooklyn Museum Quarterly. An outcome of this new information is that these ‘odd’ tiles identify a type of tile set used for another popular game.
